sound but no picture!

please help....all of a sudden my pc wont give me a picture when i try and play a video file! sound is there ok but no piccie! but it does play dvds fine! help!!

It sounds as if u have not got the downloaded the codec for the video, its possibely an Xvid codec, try http://www.xvid.com or just look up codecs on the net and download some, and im sure it will work
