online shop - best webuilding programmes

im thinking of opening an online shop, its a sideline so i wouldnt need an expensive website and was looking at building my own site using a programme - has anyone experience of this and what programmes are the best, easy to use?

There are a large number of alternatives out there for you, with two of the most popular / easiest to use being OSCommerce and Actinic.

However, depending on what your goals are and which market you are operating in, you are unlikely to succeed in making much money from this store without taking steps to increase things like search engine ranking, visitor conversion rates and a whole range of other things.
