how do i free up disc space?

my c-drive on my pc is low on memory,its telling me to erase programmes i dont use to free up some space.trouble is i use them all,how can i free up space without doing this,thanks in advance,dave

Run it and it'll take a while to analyse your hard drive, then give you a nice pretty picture of lots of coloured squares. The larger regions or larger squares are the ones taking up all your disk space. If you click them it'll show you at the top what they are (whether they're a film or picture or something), and delete anything that you know what it is that you no longer need.

How large is your hard drive?

Couple of things that may help.

Go into your recycle bin and delete everything from there.

Go into IE (if you use IE), choose Tools then Internet Options and then the Delete Files button.

This deletes all your temporary internet files and you may have thousands of them.

this happened to me! i did all of the above, discovered i had a video sitting somewhere bigger than all the other progs put together!!!
