Shareaza: speeding up downloads

I currently uses Shareaza to download music. Is there any thing that can be done to speed up the process as it often seems very slow?

iv used edonkey/emule for last 2 years ,n tried everthing for faster downloads but best thing iv found is just let yor pc run overnight on its own steam overnight,torrent links never seem 2 work for me,oh n dont have backgound programs running in background
