DVD Ram video disc (Maxwell)
4 Answers
These are DVD RW discs which you can use to record programmes on DVD players. However, I can't play them on my computer's DVD drive. Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks for your help.

It is not hugely expensive to replace - here is an example:

i tink you will find Ethel that RAM recording format is very different to the conventional DVD+ or DVD- formats.
I think you will find Zebigboss that you have to format discs that are recorded on a DVD recorder before they play on other players, but you cannot finalise DVD+RW discs.
Once finalised you cannot put anything else on the disc, so it is better to find out what format or formats your DVD recorder will accept and what your computer's DVD drive will play, then buy the cheaper DVD+ or DVD- disks and record on them once and then finalise them..

I have a philips dvd recorder hooked up to my television.
Dvd R disks have to be finalised before they can play in other dvd players, but DVD RW play in all my pcs and dvd players.
RAM is a different format, and not many players can read them.
That is why I suggested a replacement dvd drive that can read all formats.
