Yet another DVD Recorder question...

My sister was given a DVD Recorder for Christmas. For her birthday I want to give her some spare DVDs. The man in the shop says I need to know whether her machine needs DVD-RW, or DVD+RW. Tonight I can probably have a look at the box and instruction leaflet for the machine, but can anyone guide me where to look for this info? Might it simply state somewhere "this machine requires - or + DVDs" do you think? I've checked the previous questions and answers and so far haven't found this info......

Mine doesn't say it anywhere on the machine.

It is very clear within the first three pages of the manual though.

What make/model is it?

I don't know yet - I'm going to have a look tonight, and thanks for letting me know that it's clear in the manual - not everything is these days! Cheers.
Most recorders PLAY all formats.

BUT many will only record on either - or +.
