Broadband connection

For the past few weeks I have been unable to establish an internet connection without first disabling my Norton Internet Security. Can anybody tell me what's gone wrong and how to fix it please?

Your firewall is probably stopping access to the internet.

Not sure how, but you need to set it so you are prompted every time a program wants to use the internet, and then you say yes or no.

Once you have said yes it remembers it and you do not get asked in the future.
