aac to mp3

Does anyone know of any good, freeware software that will convert AAC files downloaded through itunes to MP3?
Also, when music is downloaded through itunes, it only lets you authorize it on five computers. Everytime I backup my computer, wipe it, and put my music back on my computer, it acts like another computer is authorizing the songs. I do this quite a bit and have a lot of itunes music... is there any way around reaching my five authorizations on my own computer? My best guess was converting them to MP3 but if anyone has other suggestions i would appreciate it. Thanks!

Your next problem is that the music sold on the iTunes music store isn't just AAC music, it's protected with DRM, which means that you can't legally convert it. My advise would be to not buy any music from there at all.
What you can do however is burn the files to an audio CD, then import them into iTunes as either AAC or mp3 (AAC is better).
