depends what you mean by a digital watch. scientific pedants would tell you that a watch with a second hand that "ticks" as opposed to moving in a constant sweep is actually digital. but i guess you mean a quartz watch with a LCD. try this link http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/quartz-watch.
