linking 2 computers

why wont my 2 computers link up? i have got the networking cable in but t keeps saying network cable unplugged??

If it is a simple pc to pc network have you used the correct cable ie a cross over cable.

i hope so..............i went to the comp shop and asked for a network cable?

Network cable comes in two types straight AND crossover.
You need crossover for a simple pc to pc link.
If you are not sure take it back and ask at the shop

Also what operating system are you using Win XP has a network wizzard to assist you connect
