3G Phones

I'm looking to get a new mobile phone.

A while ago, there seemed to be a lot of problems/bad press about the 3G phones or 3G networks.

Have these problems been resolved??

If its a new mobile phone your after and dont spend that much time video calling etc, a 3g phone is kinda pointless. Why do u want a 3g phone? if it is for video calling then you must be prepared for these ongoing problems with 3g. I've heard from a few friends that their phones stop working after a while and 3g themselves are pretty useless in the customer service area.

I'm not looking for one specifically, but I've looked at several phones on the Vodaphone website and each phone I like the look of seems to be 3G.
