I seem to have lost the standard buttons and the address bar. I have reset the Standard Buttons toolbar back to the original buttons and original order by selecting Reset in the Customize Toolbar dialog, but i still can not have the tools on the screen. What else could I do ?

Do you mean the file-edit - view etc buttons?

Have you recently installed IE7? If so, press ALT.
