Webmail addresses

I have seen a lot of answers where a webmail address is given (I think it is called a URL?) can someone tell me how to send these out to a friend by e-Mail.

Just copy and paste the URL into the email. Or you can type it out long hand if you wish. The email software usually recognises it as a web address and will allow you to click on it.

You want to put a link to a website in email?

Open up the relevant webpage.

Place your cursor at the beginning of the address in the address bar - right click once (or twice depending on your settings) - the address will now be highlighted.

Right click again and click copy

Now right click in the email and click 'paste'. It will automatically become a hyperlink - a clickable link.

Thanks to Obonio & Ethel for your prompt answers.However they put me in to another situation that I am not sure how to handle. In order to copy & paste the URL into the email, I need both the URL & the email open on my desktop at the same time.As I click on the 2nd one the1st one disappears ,I can't get them to stay on screen together. Also if I highlight the URL & then copy& paste I have no idea where it has copied & pasted to,so that I can retrieve it. Please help as my fingernails have now been bitten down to my elbows.

I assume you are using IE6. If you were using IE7 or Firefox it would be a simple matter of opening another tab.

However, you need to open a new window.

Click 'file' at the top of your screen, and 'new window'.

Your existing window will remain open, but hidden behind the new window.

Now open the web page in the new window, copy the link and either:

Close or minimise the new window;

Bring the original window to the front by clicking on it at the bottom of the screen;

or

Press Ctrl and tab together to 'toggle' between the two windows.

There are other ways, but that is enough for now. :)

You are now back in your original window with the email - just right click and paste as already described.
