I am having real problems with my internet. I cant get on anything apart from here and asda :(
No other websites will load (I am getting the bar at the bottom of the screen showing its trying to load the pages but its just loading and loading and nothing is happening. I also cant sign into messenger.

I think its just going really slowly cos I just tried to check my tiscali email and the status showing the send/receive is loading up in bytes rather than quickly loading up in KB like it always does.

Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong or what I can do? thanks

Try a simple thing first. Turn everything off. PC, modem, router if separate. Turn on in the following order:

Modem - wait at least 30 seconds
Router - if separate - again wait.
PC.

This resets everything and often puts things right.

If that doesn't work - try disabling your firewall temporarily and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks ethel, Im still having probs but will have to wait for my husband to get home from work (Im on my lappy and the router is run from the main pc and I cant get to the plugs) :(
It is very possible that your javascript has corrupted. Download and install the latest version from here: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
Do not disable your firewall. It is there to protect you against things far worse than being unable to access some sites.
Disable your firewall? oh yeah, sound advice there Ethel!

Jeez!
Have you cleared out your temporary files lately?

Your PC may be bunged up and need a bit of a clean, this slows mine down at times.
Laykie, do you even know whay a Firewall is?

I have used Ethel's advice on many occasions, and have always found it to be spot on.Temporarily disabling the firewall is sound advice, and it worked for me when I had the same problem as aka pixi.

If you dont have anything constructive to say, then you are on the wrong site.Maybe www.*************.com is more you scene.

Thanks everyone, I found out yesterday that tiscali are having some major problems. They said it would be sorted in 2 hours (this was dinner time yesterday) and its still not sorted. Apparently its affecting tons of people.

I never thought about it being a problem with the ISP with me being able to get on a couple of sites but not others.
'Maybe www.*************.com is more you scene?'

Is that the best you have got TEAK36?

Seriously, I wipe my backside with sharper stuff than that!
