With most, but not all, pcs and laptops you can change the region 5 times - and then it locks to the fifth region.

Question Author
Thanks, how do I know what region it is presently and how do I change it.
Start - my computer

Right click on dvd drive icon - properties

Click the dvd region tab.

This will show the current region, how many changes you have left, and how to change the region.

Thanks, but I looked up the properties tab and it didnt have a tab for dvd region, it just had tabs for, general, autoplay, hardware, sharing and recording.
Click on the hardware tab, select your DVD drive, then the button towards the bottom of the box which says properties. Then select region. It will tell you the region and give you the opportunity to change it. Remember, you can only change it five times.

I have one that says location 0, so does this mean it is multi-regional? Sorry for my stupidness
You have not clicked on your DVD drive. Location 0 is your primary hard drive. When you click on hardware, there is a list of all your drives in a window. Click on the entry for your DVD drive, then on properties.
