What is the best video and picture editing software for a laptop with XP (not an advanced proffessional version!)? Has to be UK version so i can burn to vcd as i dont have a dvd player on this laptop.

try this ,I think there is a sample free download.
For �40 it is superb. Great effects very professional.

taking a gamble here, but if your only burning discs images to play back on the laptop, what about just mounting the disc image in a virtual drive (IE Daemon tools, or Alcohol120%).
Serif Movieplus 5 (my favourite) or Premiere Elements 3. Some people like Sony Vegas Studio (all around �50 to �60).
Movavi Video Suite do fit for you, this software can edit video and burn it to DVD disc, my friends recommend it to me, very easy to use and works perfect for me, here is a guide about it
