OK, lets back up a little. Before we blame any nasties, is the slow internet and download speed the only problem?
Is the actual computer running slowly? Are you getting pop-ups, or finding yourself on unwanted websites?
It could be something as simple as a bad internet connection.
Could you run a speedtest for me.

Just click on the triangle nearest your home and let me know the result of the download speed.

Download CCleaner from here

Once installed run it. By default it will open at "Cleaner" and all boxes will be checked. Click "Analyse" and for it to finish, then click "Run Cleaner" Then we'll see how its going.
p.s during install uncheck the yahoo toolbar. You wont need that. And, unless you know your way round the registry, STAY AWAY from the "Issues" option.
