Helmet Cam

I do mountain biking and would like to make videos of the riding. What type of camera/equipment is needed to mount on either my helmet or the bike.
I do have a regular hand held camcorder but it's no good for this application.

Would a webcam connected to a suitable recorder be good enough do you think?
