Which Broadband service?

Hi, I live in NE England and my Dad wants to get Broadband for his house on a trial period to see if he wants to keep it (he's a little bit of a techno-phobe!). He doesn't want to lose his BT phone line and telephone number so he won't switch to an NTL contract for example, and he also doesn't want a 12 month contract as he wants to be able to quit if he doesn't think it's worth the money, but he wants something that's quick and easy to set up. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the best wireless broadband service would be? I get a package from NTL at my place so I'm not sure what the best deals are for Broadband only. Thanks for your help!

I don't know what is available in your area, but here are BB providers that have between one month and three months minimum contract. But as always understand the small print before committing.

It should not interfere with the existing phone number in any way, provided you don't use Virgin Cable.

Personally, I can heartily recommend some of the Entanet resellers. You would typically pay around 15 a month for 8MB download speed, on a 1 month contract. And, basically, they just seem, how can I put it...exactly what you would expect from a decent ISP.
