can't get wireless internet

I have a siemens scaleo pc, it was upstairs where I could get wireless internet connection from my bt homehub. I've moved the computer and is says it can't detect a network. My laptop can get the network from the same position.
The helpful guy at BT said to connect it by wire, can't due to the distance.
Any ideas?
