Your question is not very clear. The standard firewire cable has a small 4 pin connecter at one end(usually for camera DV-out) and a larger 6 pin connector at the other(Input to PC)

It depends what you are trying to achieve as regards what lead/adaptor you need. If, for example, you already have the lead descibed above and you want to adapt it to input digital video from a camera to your TV's DV-in socket, then you could buy an adaptor from Maplins, like THIS

i need a 5 pin male firewire lead, not a 4 pin but a 5 pin male firewire as its a new camera

What is the camera and to what are you connecting it ?

the camera is a Sony DCR-SR 290E and i want to use the camera on a apple mac but imovie on the Mac will only let me use a Firewire lead NOT a USB,

According to the specification of that camcorder, it only has USB and s-video sockets, so you cannot connect a firewire cable.
