Translate "Wang"

I've got a very ancient Olivetti word processor which has sadly given up the ghost after 12 novels and hundreds, if not thousands, of letters.

I have still got a minor mountain of floppies containing records and copies, which I would like to load on to my pc (Word 2000)

I believe that the floppies are written in a language called "Wang", or something like that. Does anyone know how to achieve this a translation??

To be honest, I've never heard of the format. However, some google searches seem to suggest it's an old file format (fits in), and that OpenOffice can import it for you (OpenOffice is like a free Microsoft Office).

My guess is that Microsoft Office may not be able to read the files, but I wouldn't bet on it. Try putting a floppy in and opening the file (if it can be read at all -- floppies degrade) with Word.

If that fails, you could always try downloading OpenOffice and give its word processor a go:
