My TV has sound, but no picture

Any clever people out there know if this is likely to be major or easily fixed, please?

have you got the mute button on the remote set too "off"
it should put a image on screen when pressing this.
also if you tv is running from a freeview box or other external device make sure the scarts are push into their sockets properly as this can cause loss of audio

Also check the scart lead at back to tv, if its slight in it can stop the picture but give you sound, try taking it out and putting back in and make sure its in properly.

Does it have a line of picture across the screen? If so, this is easily repairable - I don't know what it is, but my local shop fixed it for about �25.

I have an igsignia 32 inch it was manufactured in 2005 I had audio but no picture and evrey time I turned on my tv
does the same thing 4 about 2 weeks I had sound but no picture just today I turned it on and press the mute button and it made like a distortion sond and bam my picture came on can anybody tell me what happen thank you
