problem opening web pages

I am forever having difficulties opening webpages I appear to be able to open the home page of many websites fine but then when I click to open another page a blank white screen appears and doesnt change as though it has loaded the page successfully. I have tried refreshing the websites, and have also deleted the cookies on my computeras I was told this might solve the problem but it hasnt made any difference! any ideas on what else I to try to solve this problem? thanks - J
