I purchased a Pioneer DVR-540H Dvd/Hd recorder and I have a question regarding its video output.

Until recently I was just using an s-video cord and a standard crt tv.

I have just purchased a HDTV and have swapped the s-video cord for component.

When I acess the dvd recorder through the AV1 channel on the tv it tells me that it is outputting at 576i.

I was able to go into the menu of the recorder and at least change it to progressive but i was wondering if it can go higher in resolution through the component cord?

I know that my Xbox 360 outputs as high as 720p using a component cord.

Thanks for your time.
