Does anybody have an idea how I can put a password on my router to stop other houses using my internet? Its a Netgear router but there doesn't seem to be any information about security

You need to access your router admin page whilst connected to the router by ethernet cable - otherwise you will lock yourself out!

Try typing the following in to the address bar:

192.168.1.1

Now you should see the admin page. Take your time to look at all the pages, and try to implement at least points 1 - 4 here:

http://www.practicallynetworked.com/support/wi reless_secure.htm

When all is done, you can disconnect the ethernet cable.
netgear log-in is usually 192.168.0.1
