Limewire

We use Limewire to download the odd song, usually what my daughter hears on the tv and decides she wants. The last few times we have tried to use it, it won't connect properly and only one bar goes green and we are unable to get any music downloaded. Has anybody got any idea why this is and how to solve it? Thanks. Daffi x x

Hi we use it too. They had a update and when we downloaded it it got stuck and would not work. So we had to load it all again. Try that cause it might work. And it could be r firewall.

I use Limewire Pro and don't have any problems with it even after updating.My daughter was amazed that I get download speeds of 200kb/s sometimes when she only gets about 10kb/s on hers.Is it the pro version you are using daffidazey? When I used the free version it used to have connection problems.

Hi. We use the free version, have never had any problem til the last couple of times we have tried. Have unistalled it and downloaded it again but it still isn't connecting x x

I'm convinced the free versions of these type of programs deliberately give you problems so that you have to buy the Pro version.Have you considered using Bearshare? It also has a free and Pro version.We have it on our older computer,its not as good as Limewire Pro but my other half uses it without any problems.

I have the same problem, but only since I switched ISP to Toucan. Now, I can only get Limewire to download stuff during "off peak" hours, i.e at weekends, or during office hours in the day. There is nothing that can be done about it apparently. I suggest you try out different times of going on, such as during the daytime, or after 11pm. It's not just Limewire, Kazaa and Ares are the same also.

Hope thats of some use. Not ideal I know, but at least if you know times that you are able to download stuff, you can work things out accordingly.

If there's a faster, easier download program, I've never seen it. I can get any music/video piece I want at lightning speeds! You name it, i can download it only through Flickr Music.
