My elderly neighbours recently signed up to Orange BB and got themselves a laptop to go with it.
I set up their connections and e-mail account and everything was fine for a month or so but now, every time you click on Send/Receive in Outlook, it disconnects from the web and produces error messages.
Anyone got any ideas?
TIA.

Does it work fine all other times? i.e., when browsing the web, or does it happen at other times too?

(May I suggest signing them up to gmail, and using the web interface...)
What do the error messages say?

when they're on the web, the connection remains fine, it's only when outlook either auto send/receives or you manually send/receive or if you physically send an e-mail. the error messages that come up tell you that theeir server isn't recognised or that they aren't connected.
Could it be that they've checked the "Hang up when done" box in Outlook's connection options? (Assuming they're using a modem not a router).
