Quite often when I switch on now a message pops up saying that Microsoft has identified a Registry problem which it wishes to report. I've let it report a dozen times, but still the message appears. Does someone know, please, what this means and, particularly, how I can stop the message appearing?

Unless the message gives very specific file and/or application information, this could be just about anything - including random corruption by a virus or Trojan. The shortest, simplest solution is probably to back up all your needed files, then re-install Windows fresh from scratch, followed by your other applications.
