My computers, at home, have gone crazy. I have a desk top and a laptop and I have recently changed to Sky as my internet provider. My wireless network connection says it is connected to sky but I can't seem to get onto the internet. Is there a general problem with sky broadband that I should know about or should I investigate my own settings further?

Cheers

I did have many problems with sky at first but it did slowly sort it self out...
I had the same problem as you it kept saying connected but i couldn't get on the net i kept resetting the router and turning it on and off. My laptop kept saying connected through wireless but it wasn't as i said it seemed to fix it self in the end..
Sky should have a web page showing current system status, but I can't find it on their website.

For example, I'm with Virgin Media and their status page is:
http://status-cable.virginmedia.com/vmstatus/s ummary.do.
sky rent the exchange off BT so poor connection problems due to volume of people sharing your line will cause this.

if you have no hardware problems then I would imagine its just the volume of traffic thats making your connection virtually non existant

The modem looks fine, all correct lights on. The computers are saying they are connected to the sky box. I know my line supports up to 2GB download speed. The sky modem is the base one.
