1080p Digital LCD TV a waste of money ?
21 Answers
An article in the Sunday Times says that paying a few hundred pounds for Full HD 1080p rather than 720/1080i is money wasted as no broadcasts will be on that standard for years yet.
Having just bought a Panasonic to the higher spec have I really wasted my money unless I buy a Blue Ray or HDTV player and high defintion DVD films.

neildownx, what a sad outlook you have on life! Don't run everybody else down because they don't agree with you. Avoid updating your TV by all means but these things do wear out and produce poorer pictures. Provide all the other more important things in life, by all means, don't be so disparaging of others.
Hi tellboy...if I can bring the posts back to dealing with the sensble question that you asked... no I don't think you did waste your money:-
1..1080p will become the future norm.
2..In 2/3 years 'high definition' dvd's will be the norm
3.. If you are viewng a 1080i picture it will appear better on a 1080p set (visit www.hdtvorg.co.uk)
