what's the best wireless connection for my laptop ?

I was thinking of getting a router to get a wireless internet connection for my laptop but i don't really know what i'm looking for or how to go about it. I'm not really one for asking at shops as i feel a bit awkward when i don't know what i'm talking about. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx...

First things first. What type of broadband do you have?

If you have a cable modem, through a computer such as NTL/Telewest/Virgin media (that do cable TV too), get something like this:

If you have ADSL broadband, through your phone line, from a company such as Tiscali, BT, Sky, Orange, etc., get a router like this:
