Does anyone know about this program? In what way is it different from kazaa for example?

Bittorrent is similar to kazaa in that it's a peer to peer file downloading type program but it differs in the way in which files are shared out. You can't just search for a file via a torrent client, someone has to publish the file initially from a 'seed server' and clients then cooperatively download chunks of the file from that server and from peers who are also downloading it at the time. So basically you can't just share your own files with a bit torrent client and you have to go find a link to a file (usually published on one of many web pages that collect such links .. search google for "film torrents" or "music torrents" for instance ) before you can start downloading it. Bit Torrent is a much better system for the transfer on larger files (complete albums or video files) so I personally use WinMX for individual music tracks and have bit torrent for finding awkward video stuff.

CLICK HERE for the Torrent client that I use which is free for anyone to use but be aware that some of the clients with the harder to find stuff have restrictions on downloading and make you sign up and seed as much as you leech to get the newest files.

don't listen 2 them. u want shareaza; it combines all the features of kazaa/kazaalite/winmx/donkey2k with bitorrent. it is the best p2p software around. www.shareaza.com

in my experience of p2p,kazaa and similar is full of little a**holes who post incorrect files but with bit torrent i have dl'ed tonnes of stuff which is all correct and as it should be
