Only ever used NTL Broadband @ 17.99 per month, so can't speak for any others. It's Ok though.
What exactly do you want out of your connection - just "dead fast"? I really like mine - freedom2surf, I think they're brilliant. They include some stuff that's handy for webdesign that others like BT and wannadoo don't. They're also very cheap if you don't mind a 5GB bandwidth cap. Virgin gets some votes for not requiring a 12 month contract (as do "f2s") check out http://www.adslguide.org.uk/
i use NTL and find it pretty good, and with the back up they provide i have not had any problems
NTL are cheap & I never had any major problems with them but others I know on NTL have complained that the're prone to outages, and that their news server is unreliable: http://www.ntl-isp.ntl.com/ServiceStatus/
Do NOT think about using NTL without first visting the website http://anticap.co.uk and reading the info on the site.

NTL are certainly not the best option and the adslguide link is a good 'un......My ISP is Gio Internet which only has a 3 month contract and is 19 per month but you pay through the nose for back up with 1 per minute phone lines with cheaper ISP's where the likes of AOhell are very good at providing unlimited customer care (miond you they should be for nearly 30 per month).

If you are in NW or SW London, you can get HomeChoice internet which'll give you FAST broadband internet plus a fab video-on-demand AND broadcast telly service. See www.homechoice.tv
Try this website:- http://www.ispreview.co.uk/
I use aol thru a BT line, its 24.99 a month for 576 download and 276 upload. My pc is on 24/7 so I get as much out of it as I can.
