sounds like youre laser unit may be on the way out ! these can be nought from ebay for about �40 depending on your ps2 version

you may have purchased a chipped PS2 in which case you need to buy dodgy games.

chipped ps2's play proper discs too !!! the chip allows copied or imported original discs to be played
