how do you speed up downloading from kazaalite v 2.4.3.......currently getting d/load speeds of 0.5-6kb/s!!!!!!!!!!Crap,is`nt it???? Need help.....PLEASE!!!!!!

it all depends on how many peers are available ie if only 1 or 1 people are online with the item you are after then your speed will be low but if dozens of people are available then your speed will increase dramatically - trouble with kazaa its so full of virus's and a**holes who post files under wrong names

If you really are Hell-bent on opening up the contents of your PC to every wannabee hacker in the world by using Kazaa then you will need to be on broadband to achieve acceptable download speeds.Also getting rid of all the Adware and Malware that is included in Kazaa will probably speed up your general surfing.

kazaalite still sources from kazaa users so still holds all virus's and wrong files as i previously said also i think you have to pay to use kazaalite dont you ?

I run kazaalite tools K++ (I downloaded it for free from www.slyck.com) and have no problems. As Mattk correctly states that if there are only a few users that have the file you require, then the chances are that the download speed will be rubbish. However I will say that the speed that you can download depends mainly on the other users upload speed (presuming you have broadband) i.e. how quick they can give you the file and not how quick you can take the file. I will also add with regard to viruses, I have never had a problem. My simple tip is always check the file name and extension before downloading so that it matches what you are looking for. Keep my virus definitions up to date and finally scan every file before I open it. I hope that this helps.

Robber 1, are you taking it on trust that Kazaa Lite has no Malware incorporated in it or have you scanned your PC with Adaware/Spybot after installing it.I downloaded it onto a spare PC and had to delete so much garbage from it that it would not work. I also stand by my assertion that any peer-to-peer programme is an open invitation to hackers regardless of how careful you are re. virus control.

i used to have kazaalite installed and whenever i ran 'adaware' it found loads of stuff put there including gator etc etc amazingly since i removed kazaalite this stuff never appears !

Pleased to see you agree Mattk, don`t trust the claims made on these sites. On a different tack I downloaded a programme recommended by Lockergnome called 2FindMP3 which was supposed to search for freely available mp3 music on the web without being of the peer-to-peer genre. Its website claimed not to have any malware/spyware incorporated in it yet running Adaware before and after downloading it revealed 161 instances of these including 44 Registry keys, so don`t take anything on trust as Robber1 seems to.

Ive ran Audio Galaxy, Kazaa and Klite++ and had the usual problems as you have all mentioned including loads of corrupted files and spyware. I now run Adware 6.0 and this blasts all the spyware out of my pc so I never get any stupid pop ups. Ive now gone onto Emule Project and havent had a corrupted file since I started using it 6 months ago, try it youll never know www.emule-project.net
