Hello,

I can't download my e-mails on one of my accounts. I am using Outlook and Thunderbird. I have contacted the ISP and after a long process of elimination, it may be that my inbox folder is corrupt. Inbox.dbx I believe. Would both of these programs share the same inbox file? If not can anyone recommend another e-mail program (apart from Outlook Express which is playing up), just to give it a try. I have checked the account information and passwords etc. All are okay. I am using XP Pro. Thanks in advance for any help.

Inbox.dbx is the inbox file for Outlook Express.
Outlook uses 'pst' files, rather than 'dbx' ones.
Thunderbird doesn't use of those file extensions; it has a completely separate inbox.

If you can't download e-mails with either Outlook or Thunderbird, it's likely that the problem is external to your e-mail clients. (e.g. it could be associated with your firewall or your port settings). However, if you still want to try another e-mail client, you could install the Opera web browser, which incorporates its own e-mail client:
