help me please!! http address bar

Ok, i keep typing in the addy of the site i want to visit, but it never goes there. All i can get is my home page. If i do want to go somewhere i have to type the http thing in. i.e http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk. This is so annoying, as i work from home, and need to be speedy. Why wont it let me do this? it's only just started playing up. please help me

Cant help you too much cos I know little about such stuff. You could add the sites to your "Favourites" so it only takes one click to get there.

You generally don't need the http:// bit either, just: www.whatever.com and then press "Enter" or click "Go" As mentioned, I'd just bookmark the site - if this doesn't work we may need more info.

Ensure that the Auto-Complete feature is turned for web addresses. Go to Control Panel - Internet Options - Content - AutoComplete. Select the options you want. (Based on XP Pro but should be similar for other OS's). You can now also just enter the website name eg HOTMAIL, and then press CONTROL+ENTER. It will automatically add in the HTTP:// and the .com part for you.
