My nephew has joined the army and is planning on buying a laptop to use, he heard of pay as you go internet, is this right enough and can someone recommend a supplier. Also how on earth would it work if he's in barracks with other people in the same boat.
tell him to subscribe to the t mobile or 3G modem that uses a sim card
its about 15 per month and can be used anywhere
it justs connects to a usb port
or his mobile phone may be used as a modem likewise
The network provider '3' have a pay as you go modem - the modem is free and the cost is 10 per month on a 2 year contract. There is a 1GB allowance - great for general surfing but not good enough for downloading music etc.
The 3 modem would be the answer but beware of exceeding the download limit as you are charged a swingeing rate which equates to 102 per 1GB and to exceed the limit invokes a charge for a minimum of 1GB even if you exceed the limit by only 1MB.
