Good question Kazdek! I keep looking at all the ones I have stored up and thinking the same thing. They have been installed, so why do you need them, but if you go for a system restore you may then need them. So far I have chickened out of deleting any...........
You can delete them if you wish

can you go into a bit more detai rojash please
LOL
playing close to your chest ;-0

CCCleaner is the easiest way to get rid of them

Personally I remove them manually ... but CC is OK
Surely if the companies felt the need to update your computer, then they are needed?
panic

the "companies" - microstuft update windows as required

as a precaution they backup and store any files that are replaced - just in case so if things go wrong you have a panicbutton.

once the update has been running for a few days .... it's generaly safe to remove the backup files (NOT the update itself).

If you look on your machine you'll see just how much space this "handy option" takes up.
How do I do that?

I would probably uninstall the update if I tried.

AC the list of up dates ar in my add and remove programs in control panel do i just remove them
Kaz and panic

you can either
configure your system so that you can see hidden and system files .... and go hunting....
they live in c:\windows ....... see
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spack.htm

alternatively you can download cc cleaner ..... and let it do the job for you
(including the entries in add remove progs)

don't forget ...
the files you are deleting are the old backups ..... not the updates .... so as long as your system runs OK for a week or so It's reasonablt fair to say it's OK to delete.
