graphic card upgrade

i need to upgrade my graphic card i have a tornado GeFORCE fx 5200 i recently purchase a 8500 series but it dont fit on motherboard the problem is the motherboard slot has got to have three slots and the 8500 only have 1 short and 1 long bit at bottom to slot into motherboard i need to find out who made motherboard can anyone help on this please

If you have an older motherboard (and it doesn't need to be much older) it will have an AGP slot. Unfortunately, most decent graphics cards are now only available for PCI-E slots. You need to search specifically for an AGP card.

(id the mobo also .... you might be lucky and get away with just a mobo upgrade .... but don't get your hopes up

Surely it is not fit for purpose.

If it was a shop then they should have checked you had the right slot before buying it.

I would try again to get them to take it back.
