I have an apple laptop, one of the older coloured ones, and i need to to be able to email from it using my mobile. However i am really blonde when it comes to stuff like this and would like some advice. I'll only be emailing once a week - twice at the most, and i'll need to use my mobile as the phone line. I don't really want to pay loads a month for the connection cos i'll be using it so little, so who should i go with and how do i set it up? Where do i get a connector for my phone to the computer? Does that vaguely make sense? I have read the previous answers saying not to bother with mobiles etc but i have to cos there isn't a phone line, and the stuff to be emailed is on deadline.

If your laptop and your phone support infra red connections, you can hook together via that. I'm not sure how an Apple handles infra red though. Personally, I'd recommend using an XDA 2. This has pocket outlook on which can send and receive mail. You can also browse the web with it. You should be able to synchronise it to the laptop via a USB cable, so email sent from it will appear on your laptop. Hope this helps
