Skype speakerphone

i would like to use Skype (www.skype.com) to make some calls to a buddy in australia. what kind of phone/device can i connect to my pc to do that so that I can have a speakerphone function for me and my friends? any help, really really appreciated. thank you!

I went to the site and it seems that you dont need a phone. This is a voice over IP application and all you will need is speakers and a microphone for your PC. Listed on the site: System Requirements In order to use Skype software, your computer must meet the following minimum system requirements. Minimum System Requirements: * PC running Windows 2000 or XP * 400 MHz processor * 128 MB RAM * 10 MB free disk space on your hard drive * Sound Card, speakers and microphone * Internet Connection (either dial-up: minimum 33.6 Kbps modem, or any broadband: cable, DSL, etc.) However, in order to take advantage of all of the advanced features of Skype and to experience the best sound quality possible, we highly recommend the following configuration. Your friend needs to install Skype as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for all your comments. have any of you used Skype? is it a good program to use? do you need a broadband connection to get quality voice transmission? cheers.

you have to have Skype as well as whom ever you want to talk to. I use it and it works well all you need is a mic and speakers, sound quality is very good. somewhere on the Skype web site it talks about a speakerphone, but a mic and speakers work very good!
