Outlook problem

I use MS Outlook and have rules to copy emails into different folders etc. Recently I get a message saying unable to open outlook.pst It has lost all the folders and copies of received and sent mail.
I set it to regularly archive the inbox, is there any way to recover the archives? or repair the lost/corrupted file?
Also lost all my contacts.

Hi Billy, although this post is very old but I would like to add. Due to some virus attack PST file may got corrupt. Yes you can recover all your contacts and data from PST file.
