pauses on youtube video

why do youtube videos keep stopping after every 10 seconds,pausing ,play a bit and stop again? even the good quality ones. is there anything I can do to stop this, or is my computer too slow?I have broadband, but only get about 1 ,although I am paying for 8. I am three miles from the telephone exchange.

Probably the speed of your internet. If the playback is faster than the streaming process then it will pause.
Best thing to do is stop playback and wait for the dark red bar to reach the end, make yourself a coffee or something, then hit Play.

Some videos stream quicker than others.

also youtube has been undergoing some upgrades this the slow speeds

the "good quality ones", will take longer to load than the normal ones. You just need to let the red bar get to the end/a point far into the video
