Tiddly Frog Barn on this lane...? http://i37.tinypic.com/jqs5so.jpg
Robinia, No I never feel cut off. Well, perhaps I do at the moment because I can't drive anywhere, but I can say hand on heart that I could quite easily live with no neighbours in a far more remote place than I live now. Perhaps I am a bit of a hermit! I adore living out in the countryside. However, I suppose once driving is out forever we might have to move in order to continue to live!! I don't want to rely on an Age Concern bus!!
However, I definitely can't live where there are any street lights, they drive me mad and I can't sleep. I sort of feel more secure out here than if I lived in a town or village. Strange 'cos I was brought up in flats in Wimbledon!!!
Evening all
Been a miserable day here ,drizzling wet stuff all day .There is a place in Norfolk called Feltwell but it don't look like any of us have been there lately :)
Nothing much to report from Shaneytowers really. These socks feel as if I'm being strangled from the feet up ,I've done my thirty minute route march and am trying not to sit with my legs crossed .I'm just waiting for the dishwasher then I think I'll creak off to bed and do some little snoring .Mr S. does the great snoring .I wouldn't be surprised if you could hear him in Stockholm on a clear night .
Hope you all feel better soon .Toodlepip for now .
morning all - hope you are all feeling Ok if not too well!! Am v tired zfter another night out last night, so really love being at home today. Went out for coffee in a torrential downpour and got soaking, but hey, better than the sun !(although now that is trying to poke thru!

Off to make a hearty beef stew for cosy night in!
phew, spared incarceration, doctor says the pills are working and take some more. He listened in to my lungs and said it was much better than a week ago, much less fluid, salmon have all moved out though still a few goldfish in there.

Of course the first three times I went to the surgery about this I got three different doctors. How could any of those have listened to my chest twice in a row and tald me whether I was getting better or not? So thank heavens for this one, who speaks perfect English, pays attention to what you say, checks you properly and discusses the options. Haven't had a doctor like that for years. Only works two days a week, worse luck, so I shall have to confine my illnesses to Thrs-Fri.
That's a relief jno :-D
Afternoon all. Just got in from my training course in Reading is our Business. Very interesting. Watched Videos and had two ladies giving us talks on what we can expect and what we have to do. I have to wait for the4 CRB report now to see if I am accepted (hopefully). Got the Pasta on the boil now as I'm so hungry it's the quickest thing I could think of.
Those socks sound a bit troublesome Shaney but I expect you just have to keep them on for relief. I've had my walk today to the training centre. So I'm not going again.
Pleased you are on the mend Jno. I have a lovely Dr. who sees me most of the time. I have to go back in November for a check up.
Off for my lunch now see yer later 'gater(s)
At least they keep my legs warm Jude :) They're a bit like those thick 6o denier things we had to wear at school .
Actually I am getting used to them and have to admit my legs didn't feel so heavy last night and my gammy leg hadn't swelled up like an elephants leg .I hope you get accepted for your job .Good Luck .

You'll have to come and live in the sticks Jno ,my doctor is a lovely man .He's Egyptian .A real gentleman and a brilliant GP .It's pot luck with GP's though .I had an excellent doctor in Wimbledon and on moving here thought I would never find anyone as good as her but I've been lucky with him .He's so popular everyone want's to see him :) In fact my brother has just changed surgeries to him and he's been great with his knee problem .Gave him a real good going over more than his previous GP ever did in all the years he'd been with him .
At least you've been spared hospital .These antiboitics can take a while to work .I was on them for a month with my leg .Strong double dose as well .I hope you feel better soon .
Well it was bright and sunny but it's clouded over now .We've got a birthday here today so I'm off to stuff my face with Black Forest gateau and slurp coffee. .Bye for now .
What wouldn't I give for a slice of Black Froest Gateau !!!
Have just had a phone call from the chemist from where I got my medicines last night, saying they had given me the wrong type of pills and would I go and change them, have done, same pills only these disolve on tongue, but all health and safety wise, they said if I was worried I could go now to see a doctor who would assure me that it was all in order, I ask you!! All I want is the siesta from which I was awoken!!

And talking of stockings, I bought a pair (in a box) of knee length pop sox type thingies, in which to tuck the bottoms of my jeans so would be able to tuck whole thing into boots, the box was empty, i hadn\'t even thought of checking doh. thought I\'d complain now but the shop wasn\'t open tiil 5 and I could not be bothered to wait, will complain loudly manaña!!
morning...I won't say good, 'cos it ain't, it never rains does it?...
Charlie had a fit last night at tea time (always the way)...he was asleep & at first I thought he was dreaming/scratching but it was soon obvious he was fitting. It didn't last long & I didn't panic at first because he's had 4 or 5 falling episodes in the past 5 yrs, a sort of spasm thing that Cavaliers get, it passes & they're fine afterwards. After this fit though he went a bit potty, running round & crying & wanting me to pick him up to look out of the window. Anyway I had a chat with a lovely vet nurse, who went off to talk to a vet & they said the best thing was to keep him calm (!) & quiet as it could be an isolated thing. Took him an hr to quieten down but he was back to normal & is fine & very restful today - looks better than I do! I can take him down this afternoon or wait until after the weekend. He's an excitable traveller & at 3 on a Fri afternoon in a taxi might not be a good idea, I can't decide. I've done some research & it seems they understandably don't rush to give drugs unless it's a regular thing. He's not shown any symptoms of diabetes. Any advice gratefully received...I'm exhausted :o(
ah poor you and poor Charlie, can\'t give any advice as don\'t have any. We are not allowed to take dogs in taxis here (same with gas bottles).

Luckily the stormy weather seems to have abated and quite nice sun out, not too hot at all, pleasant but millions of flies everywhere and my itch/allergy/unknown thing is driving me mad today, medicine and lotion making it worse. Took back the empty stocking box and surprise surprise they replaced it, not a very usual occurence over here!

Still waiting for Corrie to appear on Internet, wasn\'t Eastenders hilarious when Pat and Peggy got pi**ed in the ice cream van!!
Oh Robbie, I am sorry about little Charlie. If it were me I would take him for a quick check up just to be on the safe side. I had an epileptic cat and he always loved to be held and reassured after a 'turn'. Do you think his excitable behaviour earlier this week was leading up to this?

Lots of Love

Lottie

I have just been to the osteopath and she is amazing!! I felt about 2" taller when I walked out than when I went in - not so hunched up. She did some lovely massage on the muscles that were in spasm (in my lower back) and suggests I go for another couple of appointments. I have decided to have a three monthly MOT with her to keep this vintage model going!!! (She thinks my ribs are bruised and not cracked). I am not to walk across the fields because they are bumpy and cause stress on my sacro something joints and I should either sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees or on my back with a pillow under my knees!!
Howdy, possums. I'm not getting any better but doc said to give it 2-3 weeks so I guess I will. Lottie when I try to raise my arm it feels as if one or two ribs "change their course" and move inwards, do you at all recognise that? I don't think they actually do, I don't feel it from the outside palpating with my other hand, it just feels that way proprioceptively. One doctor, whom I didn't see but spoke to on the phone, thinks it's "coughing-damaged" muscles sliding around. I don't know whether to stay calm or not here.

Robi I don't know anything about dogs or about fits but my chain of thought would be like Lottie's - that perhaps Charlie's recent restlessness may have foreboded this, and if so, perhaps there's something going on that needs medication. I would take him today, if I could.

Only you could have made that gas bottle comment Neti, ha ha ha! But I know how much you love animals. (Or is it just cats?)

Jude I'm excited about your new job!

I hate this time of year before the landlord turns the heating on, it drags on for months, they wait until they would be sued if they didn't.

Found a wallet yesterday at a department store diner, on one of the tables, VISA card and everything in it, Italian tourist. I sat around forever with my salad hoping he'd come back, then I had to give up and thought I'd inform the diner cashier about it but bring the wallet to the police. (Don't see why I should trust the cashiers.) Just as I stood up to leave a young man I recognised from an ID card in the wallet rushed in with a panicky look and he was so relieved when I called him and opened my handbag :) I always find stuff - wallets, keys, cameras....
Or rather, Robi, I probably would have called the vet again and asked them to advise me bearing the recent restlessness in mind. But if you've already mentioned that...? ...and they still said the best thing is to keep him calm...? well then maybe it is. But if you HAVEN'T mentioned it - I would.
oh, can you find my biro for me, Kit - I think it may be down the back of the sofa.

Lottie, I often go to see an osteopath, just for an MOT and occasionally for aches and pains, and I think it's done me a lot of good over the years. Less violent than chiropractors. If that doesn't work, perhaps you should try Robinia's vet.
Thanks folks...the restlessness was due to the itching from the bites but it could have contributed...they're all better bar one on his ankle now & he keeps having a lick at that but otherwise he's fine. I suppose the best thing is to take him...maybe they'll give us both some valium!

Yes neti, EE was really funny for a change...especially Peggy's jelly jewellery! Who's the daddy? Minty would be my first choice - that's going on the expression on Heather's face when the mystery man walked in the door at the club.
No Robi, it\'s gonna be that one night stand she had at the R&R when she lost the yoghurt top - he quite liked her!! Did you see Hef and Shirl on Paul O\'grady, so different, and quite amusing.
...but I'm a day behind so haven't seen yesterday's yet. Looking forward to it! No slashes on this post (as yet)
