i can put a few LP`s in mp3 format on to a CD to play in my car sterio but when i try to do the same with a dvd disc the sterio does not recognise the disc. Is there any way i can put music in an mp3 format on to a dvd disc so my sterio can play it or am i being too greedy in wanting more music on one disc ?

Does your car stereo play dvd disks? If not - it won't work

You need a DVD player to play DVDs. DVD players are backwardly compatible and can play CDs but older CD players cannot play DVDs. It is probable that your car player is unable to play DVDs.
The reason your car CD player can't read a DVD is because the tracks are so much closer together.

A CD holds around 650 MB of data, a DVD holds 4.7GB roughly seven times as much on the same size disc. The way this is achieved is by using much narrower tracks which is read by a blue laser ( narrower beam 650nm wavelength ) rather than a red laser ( 780 nm wavelength) used in CD players.
