I have a thin green line down the middle of my Gateway laptop screen - is it done for? I've only had it 6 months but my kids are less than delicate with it, to say the least. I previously had a Dell 6220 - the screen went half black before going totally black and I was told it'd cost more to fix than it was worth - I paid over 700 for it and 500 for the Gateway. I'm hoping the little beggers haven't done it again - any advice gladly received (except keep em off it)

Probably needs the screen replacing - you should be able to get it done under warranty (assuming you have the standard 1 year).
I had the same green line on an LCD monitor last year and that was the screen knackered, so it is probably as LeMarchand says, a new screen.
Get it done before the warranty expires.
