BBC4 fault with transmitter or aerial ??
5 Answers
I asked this question a few days ago, and still need to know, if you all think it is transmitter work causing the problem, how long would it be until I can watch BBC4 properly? Otherwise, should I get an aerial man in ??

I presume you tuned it in yourself but as your equipment is new it's at least under guarantee.
Some areas get bad reception on some channels. According to entering my postcode I should receive nothing but I get about 30 channels including bbc4 and they're perfect down here on the South Coast. I taped Palin last night during a thunderstorm as I had no satellite signal.
I prefer my Sky+ box as first choice viewing.
Good Luck.

Hi Tallulah and thanks. I have already contacted Freeview but with no reply as yet. Our aerial guy tuned it in, and he is just so difficult to get hold of and unreliable, so I am wondering whether to just look for someone else (and pay again) or if it is the transmitter, what could I do ?? I do agree, I had a freeview-type Sky box before I had this one, and there are much better channels. Come back True Movies and Zone Reality !!!
Hi,
you can still get the freesat channels if that's what you need.
Freeview receptiob should be getting better as the analogue switch off approaches ( some places are already digital only) Freeview and the BBC have a postcode checker to see what your reception should be.

After that I suggest you check your signal strength on your receiver. It is usually located in a menu somewhere, BBC 1 and 2 should be around 50% or better in a good reception area and quality should always be at 100%. Signal below 35% and you'll start to see breakup of the picture and sound.
