Every time I try shut down or log off, i have to manually shut off two programs - one is tea timer exe (from spybot) and the other is SSMgr.exe - no idea what that is.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this problem? It's a minor inconvenience but a pain nonetheless.
Now i'm worried. Neither Spybot nor AVG (latest versions) are showing any infections.
Can anyone give simple step-by-steps to show how to check/get rid of this if it's spyware? I'm hesitant to download progs i don't know, but if this is a keylogger I'm even less likely to put in a credit card number!
Malwarebyte's anti malware found 0 infections, as did spybot and avg. I've uninstalled spybot and the problem's stopped - is it posible spybot's carrying trojans?
I had a recent problem with Spybot being unable to remove a trojan. This was really my own fault for not updating spybot. I used a number of strategeies to get rid - one was locating the trojan exactly and manually deleting it, BUT it seemed to be associated with Spybot, so i also deleted and re-downloaded spybot. Seems OK now.
I had problems with teatimer when I had that running. In the end I had to change the way the program worked and just use it for manual scans. You need to go into "advanced" to do this, and it should be straightforward.
